The project purpose is to give teachers and students concrete tools to learn about sustainable and inclusive tourism. It addresses Hotel schools, as they represent the future workforce and management class in the HoReCa field, which is a crucial sector for the accomplishment of European goals for sustainable tourism.
The impact
The impact of this project result can be summarized as follows:
Schools, School Directors and Teachers will be more able to implement school programs and campaigns for raising the awareness of students about the topics of sustainability and inclusiveness in the hospitality sector.
The students enrolled in hotel, touristic and economic schools will be more able to perform pro-environmental behavior and encourage practices of sustainability and inclusion in their future work.
Schools, School Directors, Teachers and Students will be more aware of the existing policies and practices in schools across Europe, being the content produced mostly focused on transnational comparisons.
Why?
The absence of a common framework for inclusion is still crucial in the tourism sector and have to be favored also through dedicated training and cultural program showing openness and inclusion. The project, and in particular the creation of a serious game which will expose students to several situations in relation to inclusion and sustainability, will favor the adoption of these positive behavior also in the future professional activities of participants.
